QUESTIONS ASKED BY INTERESTED WOMEN
1. What is your prayer life like?
As far as possible, we participate in daily Eucharist. We gather each day for Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer. Every day we pray with the Sacred Scriptures. We also give careful attention to personal prayer and meditation, spending about one hour a day in private prayer.
2. Do you ever make home visits?
Although we have left our families, we show them the love and affection which only deepens through our life with God. The sisters visit their families as need arises.
3. What habit do you wear?
The postulants wear casual clothes. As a sign of our consecration and a witness to poverty the Sisters of St. Mary wear simple clothing, with or without a veil, together with the cross of the Congregation. The novices and professed sisters may choose to wear the veil.
4. Where are your foreign missions?
Our Africa-Brazil Province is in Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cameroon, Tanzania, and Brazil. We are also in the Dominican Republic. The missions are staffed by sisters from all six of the provinces.
